Introduction:
This is the soundboard we use to control all audio for The River. There is a lot of buttons, which might be scary at first, but don’t worry, we simplify things so that running sound is easy! We will primarily focus on everything inside of the red section. We won’t need to worry about most things outside of that.
Controlling Background Music:
- To control the the volume of background music, look for the channel labeled “BGM” on the bottom right corner of the middle screen.
- Press the “ON” button to turn on the channel.
- Now raise the level of the fader to adjust the volume level!
Controlling the Slides Computer (Videos):
- To control the volume of videos and audio coming from the slides computer, look for the channel labeled “Computer” on the bottom right corner of the left screen.
- Press the “ON” button to turn on the channel.
- Now raise the level of the fader to adjust the volume level!
Controlling the Wireless Microphones (Jan):
- To control the the volume of the wireless handheld microphones (aka Jan’s mic), look for the channels labeled “HH1 “ and “HH 2” on the bottom right corner of the left screen.
- Press the “ON” button to turn on the channels. If you are unsure which mic she has, you can always turn on both to be safe!
- Now just adjust the faders to adjust their volume levels!
Controlling the Band (Worship):
- To control the the volume of the band, we first need to locate the Band Group and FX Group. These can be found on the bottom left corner of the middle screen.
- The Band channel here groups all of the instruments and musician microphones into one volume fader. So this channel needs to be ON first in order to hear the band members.
- The FX channel here groups all of the vocal and band effects (like echo, reverb, and delay) together into one volume fader. This can be turned up and down to add more depth and beauty to the worship experience.
- Press the “ON” buttons to turn on both of these groups.
- The Band fader can be left where it is to simplify things, and we can adjust the volume of our instruments and microphones in the next step.
- Locate the individual instrument/vocal microphone channels on the bottom left corner of the left screen.
- If the “ON” button for these channels are flashing, that means they they are NOT on, and you need to turn on the Band Group. Otherwise with the Band Group already on, press the “ON” button for whatever instrument you would like to turn on.
- Use the faders to adjust the volume of each instrument individually.
Turning On/Off Rehearsal Mode:
- Pressing “Rehearsal Mode: ON” on the Stream Deck will mute the band, slides computer, and any microphones in the hallways. It will also turn off background music inside the Auditorium. (Background music will still be playing in the hallways.)
- Pressing “Rehearsal Mode: OFF” on the Stream Deck will unmute the band, slides computer, and any microphone in the hallway. It will also turn on background music inside the Auditorium.
- Whichever button is lit up is which one is currently active.
Changing Background Music Playlists/Songs:
If for any reason you need to change the background music playlist or play a specific song on Spotify, you can do so by using the computer in front of the soundboard.
